Introduction 

"A told B and B told C, 'I'll meet you at the top of the coconut tree"

Can ABC's walk and talk?  Have you ever seen them run up a tree?  Have you fallen down before and gotten hurt?  What did your mom and dad do?  Read on and see what happened to all the letters at the "Coconut Tree". Let's follow letters A B and C! 
 
 


The Task

After listening to the story Chicka Chicka Boom Boom your team will:

  1.  Illustrate a picture related to the story and write a "main idea" sentence about the it.
  2.  Play the suggested alphabet and memory games.
  3.  Count the letters.
  4.  Create a Coconut tree with the letters of your name displayed on it.
  5.  Create a slide show using PowerPoint as a class.



The Process

Day 1  Listen to the story " Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" either from your teacher reading aloud or from a recorded story.  Illustrate a picture related to the story and write a "main idea" sentence about the it.

 Can you guess which one is a Coconut Tree?   Test and print out page. 
 

Use the printout to cut out and stamp letters of your name "running" up the tree.(click on tree for printout) * art project on teacher page.
 

Day 4  Print these pages.  Cut out the letters to spell out your name.  Glue on the letters to the trunk of the coconut tree (Microsoft Word was used).

Day 5   Using the letter(s) your teacher assigned you, search the clipart collection for pictures that begin with your letter.  Create a PowerPoint slide of your pictures to add to the class PowerPoint slideshow.  Be creative!
